Seems kinda pointless to me..

I sold a dash pad for $80 last year. Looked like new and wasnt a cover.

You can go to a junk yard and pick one up there somewhat cheap. I'd take that route before putting a cover over it.

For the cash I would replace it rather than a patch job

Sorry to bump an old thread, but has anyone used one of these before/have pictures of it in a car? I see no point in replacing the piece of **** GM dash with another one, even if it is the same price. I just noticed mine has a small crack in it already, only 49k on it!!

me and a few people talked about the covers last night. nobody really wants to be the first to get the ones that simply go ontop of the existing broken dash pad (6LE sells some also) i honestly dont know if it will be super noticable or not when you put the cover on it

That's what I would be worried about. The crack on mine right now is not noticable unless pointed out, only reason I saw it was because I was cleaning the dash today.

I've sold a few so far but only heard back from one customer. He seemed to LOVE it just said the silicon seems like it might get hot in the sun and loosen up so to be safe he was using a different adhesive.

Does GM not make original replacements anymore?

Maybe if I was smart I would have saved the uncracked pad from my wrecked 98 V6 just in case my next Camaro has a cracked one

No pictures from any of them then I take it? I'm sure I could find a replacement, but why replace the stock POS with another one. That's kind of like replacing a 10 bolt you blew up with another 10 bolt haha. Maybe they aren't THAT bad; but this is my first F-body and it's starting to crack at 49k, so I'm not very impressed with the stock one.

IDK, maybe I'll just have to wrap the stocker for a better fix. It didn't do the usual crack down the middle that everyone else seems to get, it almost looks like someone hit it with a hammer as there are a few small cracks that all connect slightly in front of the passenger air bag.

I've installed a few from the same company 6LE gets his from, just none of the Fbody covers. They're extremely thick compared to the factory dashes - 1/8"-3/16" but still flex, the patterns and colors are an almost perfect match and they really do a good job of hiding the damage without looking like a cheap wig on a bald guy
