Default New wheels for the SS.. pics and such..

Im sure a lot of you remember my quest for new wheels. It's not that I didn't like the Z06 wheels but they were fast becoming pretty common and Ive always prefered polished aluminum wheels. They also weighed a TON (these weight 20-21lbs a wheel).

I got a great deal on a set of used Full Polished HRE 545's.. they are clear coated so maintanance should be MUCH easier. Size is 18x9 front and 18x10 rear with my same Nitto tires.

I know a lot of people loved my Z06 rims and said I shouldnt change but thats what was said when I was changing from my Blasters to the Z06 wheels.. lol.. I think its what your used to. To tell the truth I was going to get HRE's when I did my Wilwoods but I couldnt swing the brakes, tires and $4600 for the wheels! -- So I settled for the best "bang for the buck" wheels out there, the 18" Z06's.

Here are some quick pics.. terrible lighting but they will have to do till next week..

Much like Fikse's these wheels need to be seen in person to appreciate the details in them..

This is my "dream car".. something I dont want to compromise on. I've always wanted real Recaro seats, a nice audio system and ive always longed for HRE's.. Also, i think the HRE's will be a little less common

p.s. the center caps are temporary while my blank domed ones are being finished up.. I might frost an SS on each one but im undecided on that

p.p.s: Mark, I know you dont like bolts but they really do add a little more interest to the wheel

IF you don't mind me asking what did you give for those. Those are one of the best looking wheels I've seen on a f-body. Nice car too.

Nice look, some of the HRE wheels someone posted in your previous post (when you were askin for opinions on the HREs) i think like the 840 series, the newest from HRE, would be sweet lookin, but were damn outrageous in price!!! I like those HREs on your car tho, extremly sharp, and shows off the detail very well. Good work!!!

They look like ****!

just kidding. I like them! I know what you mean by seeing them in person, people think differently of my Racing Hart wheels in person also, hard to see how shiny they are in photos.
