Smile Need help with rksport grille install !!!

Ok I haven't actually pulledy stock grille yet because it rained again and I'll wait till I can wash the car to install but the instructions look a little too simple..

It looks like the screws provided are just for the mesh inserts? How does the grille even stay in place? There's no tabs or anything or hardware included besides the teeny screws.

Any help / input is appreciated!

Got mine used..but i had two holes on the inner sides of the openings. I used black screws right into the body. Yours doesnt have any holes pre-drilled?

seems like in a thread from a month or so ago, someone said that the older RKSprorts grills installed with screws/fastners through pre-drilled holes, like litemup said, but the new ones install in a different way, i think it was with double sided tape. i forget exactly though, and i can't recall what thread it was.

Dug up an old pic of my old Z28 with the stock grille removed.... Now that black area 'looks' like a Styrofoam material and not strong enough to hold the screws? maybe I guessed wrong ? The screws provided are very small and fine thread... i doubt they'd hold in there??

Also they gave me 1 rectangle of screen mesh for the grille scoops... wtf am I supposed to cut them myself ? I don't think I planned to use them anyways.

^ i believe thats where the screws go or atleast i would put em there instead of using double sided tape cause that would suck for the thing to fall off going down the road

From other pics and threads i searched i think there are holes on the sides as well that screw into the actual bumper plastic. that makes sense now. I think the holes in the scoops are to hold the mesh in place only.

I will give it a shot tomorrow when i get home and Ill take lots of pics for sure All I can say for sure is wow the carbon fibre looks dam sexy as hell.

Here are some quick pics I took of my RKSport grille. Got it back in '02. As you can see, no pre-drilled holes for screws. But it did include a small roll of 3M VHT tape; I used the entire roll. Still on just as tight as day 1. Buy if I ever wanna take it off...whew!

Where did you install the tape? Around the grille like in a circle or anywhere specific? i think Ill do that if theres no pre-drilled holes

Behind what is the center piece of the grille. First in a ring pattern, then a couple of strips along the middle. That sucker was going nowhere.
