Default Suggestions for chrome 18" wheels

Hello all,

I'm looking for chrome wheels mainly because I am tired of constantly cleaning my factory polished aluminum wheels and not getting the "right" shine.

Anyhow, I'm just looking for ideas for an 18x9 or 18x9.5 wheel. They'll be going on a black ws6. They have to be chrome for ease of cleaning and preferably less than $1500 for the set including lugs and caps.

I really like the TTII's but everybody has them. I also like the Fikse's but dayum they're some serious coin.

Anyhow, just looking for ideas (or pics if you've got em.)

Thanks,

Russ

Try maybe C5 Y2k, Z06 or ZR-1 rims. Some of the sponsers have 'em like Discount Tire just to name one. May be able to get a set around 1500 for that size, dunno right off the top of my head...

They arn't chrome, they are polished with no clear coat I believe. In all honesty that price isn't really that great. It's about what everyone pays for them, which is fine, but it's not a steal. I'm getting mine locally for 1100 with the correct offset, same 18x10s

I just had my smoothie II's installed and they look great. The standard wheel is polished, and chrome is available. I was just there, and saw the enitre operation. Basically, then can chrome any wheel you want, and the smoothie II does come in chrome. If you are intrested, call them at 562-697-1470 and ask for Bob, he is the one that helped me. I got the polished 17's for $1000 including tax and the new pewter center caps. I just talked to Bob, and he said that $1250 is a good buy. You can buy direct from them, then if there is a problem, you don't have to deal with a middle man. Tell him the price you found, he will match it.
Good luck

I realize you can order them chrome, but the ones up for bid on Ebay are not chrome, they are high polished aluminum with no clear coat. How much more do they charge you per wheel if its in chrome?

I didn't realize the smoothie II's were chrome. That is a sweet deal on those rims, especially if it includes lugs/center caps.

Thanks Todd

Your correct, the one's on e-bay are polished, $1250 is high for polished. Boyd's said that it costs $75-100 per wheel for chrome. I saw a chrome smoothie and it looked wierd. It had a fake look to it, didn't look as good as polished, maybe because of the curves in the wheel. I liked the polished much more when I say them side by side. Both really nice wheels though!!!

I agree, I like the look of polished better. Unfortunately my car is a daily driver so it has to go through all the weekly hell that Houston has to offer. Even washing it every weekend doesn't keep the wheels from getting grungy in a hurry. I just get tired of constantly polishing the wheels. With chrome it's just rinse, wipe, and you're done.

Boyd's sells a wheel polish that is a very thin liquid and very easy to use, makes life much easier. They also use an aerosol glass cleaner with amonia, the kind that foams when it's sprayed, to maintain the the wheel. It's alot easier now, I only need to polish like once every 6 weeks or so.
