Ddm

ok guys i got my low beams and fogs 9006(35w)/880(55w) all wired up with relay harness's. the low beams work perfect but when i turn my fogs on they are blowing the 20amp tail lamps fuse on the drivers side dash panel fuse block. any ideas??

You may either need a bigger fuse or the relay harness DDM sales. But my vote would be the relay harness first though.

already purchased and installed the relay harness(2) for both low beams and fogs,figured it wouldnt hurt to do so and dampen the burden on the stock wiring. i guess i will try a 30 amp fuse and go from there,has anyone else ran into this problem or had to increase the circuit protection amperage?

should i put a 30 amp fuse in both the relay harness and the dash panel fuse block?

I'm not gonna say it hasn't happened but I've never heard of that happening. But I would change out the fuses and also check all the wiring that make up the whole HID system and also check all the wiring from the HID's to all the fuses to to make sure nothing is touching something else.

Don't go with a higher fuse. That is not the problem. There is a short somewhere. A higher fuse will lead to melted wires and possibly a fire.

You need to do some trouble shooting to narrow down what exactly is causing the problem. Try each component separately.

something is wired incorrectly or possibly grounding out. the fuse shouldn't be switched out if the stock wire can't handle it. burning your stock wiring up is a bad idea.

ya im sticking with the 20 amp tailight fuse,not going to increase the amperage. i dont feel like installing a new harness.

Heck no, NEVER increase the fuse size. That is an extremely dangerous thing to do. Could result in burning down the car from an electrical fire. The original fuse size was selected for a reason.

Please don't suggest such a thing again.
