Default Anyone ever Disable the Interior Automatic Lights??

I'd really like to know a way to disable the interior lights, so that they dont come on when i open the car door at night. I find that to be a less than desirable feature in certain situations. It'd be nice to have them only come on with a switch.

Just curious if anyone knew of a possible way.

Simple as unplugging the wire from the door switch inside the door, or finding it under the dash and cutting it there.

You can always turn on the interior lights by rolling the dash dimmer all the way to the top until it clicks.

I do a lot of night photography, and a lot of times i'll get my gear together while i'm still at the car (with the door or hatch opened up), so that i can go off to wherever i'm planning to shoot, and i dont like being all illuminated to where anyone can see exactly what i'm doing/what i have. More of a safety thing than anything.

I didn't do it to my doors, but after my wreck, the rear hatch switch wouldn't work right and was leaving the lights on. Not wanting to kill the battery, I unplugged the hatch switch, which basically makes it act like the hatch is closed all the time (which it kinda is anyway).

I'd just use the dimmer dial, its the same thing really as a switch.

The interior lights will still illuminate.

The simplest thing that you can do would be to unplug the harness on the rear view mirror, then pop the bulb out of the hatch light before your shoot. Would take you 30 seconds tops, no wiring no worries! Don't over complicate things.

I was pulling fuse (leaving doors /hatch open at shows) so lights wouldn't stay on.Tried to cut into wire and install switch but messes with bcm so had to cut into the hot wire that supplied power to all in fuse block(wish i had taken pics or made notes) but now have switch to turn off interior power (kinda like my van has switch to overide cargo lights) and also hooked up switch to turn off DRL's.
