Default Camaro power antenna?

I have a 2000 camaro SS and i miss the power antenna that my old 97 ws6 had. Anyone put a power antenna on their camaro? How hard is the swap? There is a few power antennas at my local junkyard. One thing i didnt like was that even if i was listening to a CD, the antenna would still come up. Any way to make it so the antenna will only come up if the radio is on? Thanks guys

I have an aftermarket headunit in my trans am, oem antenna failed a while back. I bought and installed an after market power antenna from the local advance auto and it works flawlessly. The only downer is that it did not work well with the stock head unit.

Power antennas only came on the Pontiac F-Bodies because people drove those. People who own Camaros need not worry about that fancy weight gaining bull crap in their sports cars

Yup, used the same writeup and worked perfectly. Cleans the car up a lot in my opinion, no need to break the smooth lines of the car with a huge antenna sticking up and a short one looks even worse. Small details make the difference

Same here. did this mod a few years ago. main reason for me was to keep from cutting a hole in my new car cover.
