What is wrong with it? Dried, cracked, slit, holes, leakage?

Damn. I was getting some leakage from my drivers window so I went ahead and adjusted the brass pieces that push up against the window. I was also getting some rattleing from the window in the down position. Hopefully I will have no more leaks.

Its called a belt molding. thats something you have to buy directly from GM.

you have to remove the mirror, and then the mirror bracket (2 bolts and a nut below it) then it just slides in. install the bracket and then the mirror again.

note: you have to remove the door panel

Also check the door alignment. My buddy had a 98 with a bad door alignment. The window wouldn't even touch the molding.

I ended up getting it. The clips behing the mirror were still intact so I didn't take the mirror off. I did take the door panel off tho. The only time the window will touch that molding is with the window up and the door shut. I put the window up and there was a uge gap and I was like wtf... then I shut the door and it was all good.

After doing my window adjustment to get rid of the window rattle, I continued to get a slight water leak on the drivers side. I think the sideview mirror corner has deformed the weather stripping and has caused a pit. I tracked the leak to there. My passanger door has a much bigger leak and I think its the same pit cause by the sideview mirror touching on the weather stripping when the door is closed. I might try silicone and if that doesn't work, time for new parts.
