Default Cold Air LID Rubbing on SS Hood ?

whats up guys. I have a SLP lid that is RUBBING BADLY on the underside of my ss hood. The lid top is all chewed up and white (my car is white).

I just bought the FIPK (used) but after taking the SLP lid, I found out the prior owner had put the Fast Toys Ram Air Induction kit on (with a slp lid though).
So I would like to retain it and cutting the metal base is not really an option. Long story.

Anyways, who out there has an SS and has a Cold Air Lid that DOESNT RUB. Let me know. Its a STOCK SS HOOD.

I am getting rid of the FIPK Kit for a regular lid type cai kit. Please let me know.

Thanks

SLP lids rub on regular hoods also. I put a small piece of soft carpet on the hood where it rubs. My hood is black w/black carpet -you cant see it hardly.

And read-up about the installation of the SLP Airlid.
Make sure that the center section of the airlid, is behind the front lip of the base.
If installed correctly, without all the damn extra foam & shet, ..., they do fit & will not rub.
There are a lot of people with proper fitting SLP airlids also.

I googled it. So after research, there is A LOT of people rubbing. Since 2002! Mine was perfectly installed. Rubbed bad.

Hopefully the LG Motorsports one doesnt rub!
