I got the smoked ones (without reflector) from eBay and I switched to LEDs so I wouldn't have the melting issue.

Where did you get your leds from? I'm tired of the bulbs burning out and busting and melting the housings for the corners. Thanks.

Try superbrightLEDS.com and eBay for the housings.

Do I need anything special to run the LED turn signals (3157 bulb) or can I just install them as is and which ones can I use? I see on the site that these can't be used for GM DRLs.

Thanks.

These are the best black corners that I have owned. They never leaged or fogged like the other black ones.

I had the stock ones tinted...looked way better than any aftermarket housing I've ever seen.

I would get the towers where theres LEDs up and down the side and a couple on the top that way you get an even light pattern versus the ones you posted cause those would only sign the light down once you put them in the housings and would kinda defeat the purpose.

Alright so I ordered a new set of the smoked corners but do I need to get anything else after I get the tower leds to get them to run right?

You'll need EL-12 flashers to make the LEDs flash since there different than regular bulbs. I'm not good at explaining stuff but if you'll search for it, there's a couple write ups on how to install the Electronic Flasher.

I don't think so unless yours were made wrong.

There are two basic types on ebay - the really cheapo ones that are ALL black inside (no chrome reflector in the very back behind the bulb) and they melt horribly. They may or may not have an amber reflector dot on the side.

The ones that the Guz linked to (and I had too) have the chrome reflector in the back behind the bulb, and a metal heat shield above the bulb that protects the plastic so it won't melt.

So would these be bad? And is the orange marker just for looks? Does it light up?

The orange marker is just for looks IMO it looks tacky, I just got some without the orange piece they look awesome.

Ebay for like 20-30 bucks shipped.

The yellow marker is just a relfector. They are put in there so the manufacturer is able say that they are DOT approved. The depo one's I posted are the good one's. I had another set of all black one's with no chrome housing and they leaked even after I resealed them. I never had issues with the depos.

The ones I have in mine came with a set of projectors I ordered from eBay and can't say I've had any major problems with em but idk what there called. The only thing I can say is if we get a real bad rain storm, they will get a little moisture inside but it's nothing to write home about.

Thanks guys. Not a big fan of the yellow marker either.

Guz the link you gave doesn't show a single set for me. Can you post an updated one. Or just post a pic. Im not sure what you mean by "depo".

I've been reading a bunch of the threads on projectors and HIDs and think im gonna do some black sonars and get some 5kish HIDs with smoked or black corners.

Sorry, roarin, don't mean to hijack. Think we have same idea. :-)

Ok Guz I think I found them. I see now "depo" is the brand of these ones on ebay. Found them under "smoke camaro bumper light".. rather than "black ...".

Here's the link..
