Default My 2011 Rebuild Thread

I'm going to start up this thread to cover a few of the little projects I have on going for my car. A few months ago my motor took a crap and ate up a few bearings. While the motor was at the shop getting rebuilt I decided to change and redo a few things I didn't do the first time I got the car together. This time I'm trying to make sure I do it all right the first time so I don't have to pull the car apart anymore.

The last time around my buddy painted my engine bay but we didn't fill in all the unused holes. So I went and filled them in and repainted and cleared the engine bay this weekened. Here are the results. It came out pretty decent for being done outside but with a paint booth things could have been a lot better.

Here is the paint booth $80 at Academy and a few shots of the engine bay.

Here is the motor for the car. It's a little 408 with a little dope for good measure. I powder coated everything on the motor gloss black. The valve covers, tb and intake were done by The Powder Pro during the last build. I also put my dremel to work and made some carbon fiber head covers. I also repinned the harness at the connectors so I can run a 02 pcm instead of the 98 and I covered all the wires in a black braid covering.

Looks like a 4th gen to me too. Haha. Guess I should have read about you changing the pins to the PCM first.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I used a cutoff wheel and sanding attachment to make the head plates.

Got most of the front suspension done today just need to do the spindles, upper control arms , rear lca's and panhard. I used rustoleum hammertone (silver) and sprayed it through my badass $35 harbor freight paint gun lol.

Before

After
