My "Official" Attempt At A Build Thread

I came across a few threads on here and decided to get some Rit fabric dye from Wal-Mart. My carpet is in really good shape and I would hate to buy some aftermarket ill fitting carpet when I can dye mine and have it fit right and be black instead if tan. Almost all of my interior plastics are out right now so I figured it was the right time. And with a spray bottle ($1), a hard bristle brush ($2), 3 8oz bottles of Rit ($3 each), and 3 boxes of RIT ($2 each) just in case the liquid doesn't make it all the way. I have under $20 and as long as it doesn't come out purple I'll be happy

I also ordered a cobra shift **** since all of the decent looking GM ***** are too expensive IMO. So I'll have to drill it out and tap it the right size, but it should look 100% better than the cheap Hurst **** I have now
Shift **** is on the way, black dye for the carpet is in my Yukon, I have the paint for the exhaust, all I need now is my damn rear brake hoses. Should be a fun filled weekend as usual
So now I need to finish up the rear brake lines on the axle, bleed my brakes, adjust my suspension so it sits level, and find a shop that will actually give me an alignment.
Sorry for not posting any pics, but I was is a mode this weekend and got a lot of **** done and didn't snap any pics. I'll get some pics of the exhaust and hopefully some pics of it outside this weekend after it gets a much needed bath.
Center rear axle side to side and front to back and tighten everything down
Set pinion angle
Install the brake hoses and bleed the brakes
Install new header gaskets
Adjust my Y-pipe so it isn't hanging down so low
Set the ride height at all 4 corners and tighten all the jamb nuts
Then put my interior back together and install my new shift ****
I hope I can get most things done Saturday afternoon so I can actually have a day off for a change and maybe go boating
This weekend I got most of the list above done (except bleeding the brakes) and I cut the fender off the left hand side of our trailer and made some brackets to make it removeable. So now I can actually open the door and get out/in when its on the trailer.

I wish I would have taken some pics, but I had a lot to do and not a lot of time so the camera never got picked up
But Friday I will have a lot of down time while my gears cool off to snap some pics, so hopefully I can get to stop at some decent scenery and get some cool pics. Then when it goes back up on the lift I'll get some pics of the exhaust and everything under the car
and I'm going to refit the exhaust again to get it to tuck up a little higher. Then I need to pull the passenger side header and flatten one tube a little more so it stops rubbing on the shock tower and making my dash vibrate like crazy
