One time me and the other half went to look for her a new car, well we find a Pewter T/A that she liked and so we stopped and looked at it cause since me and her have been together, she has wanted an F-Body cause of mine. Well we park and go up to look at the car, great looking car none the less but we went inside to ask what they were asking for it. Long story short for the miles it had, they had to have been smoking something when they set the price. So we get ready to leave and I turn the back corner of my car and notice a big *** dent in the 1/4 panel and I seen this and I was pissed. I go in and tell them what happened and the owner of the car lot is like "Ok?". Kinda like "Ok, what am I suppose to do?" type deal. So I tell them I wanna see the tapes from the video cameras outside and what do you know? They wasnt turned on that day. Well I noticed there were some guys standing outside and what do you know again? They didn't see nor hear anything. So idk who hit my car or what did. OP, I know what you mean about the doors being closed way to hard. There not light by any means but people think that it's a big door and needs to be slammed. I'm like look if it doesn't close from you being gentle with it, let's go for round 2 and nay e try and close it a little harder but not much.

Honestly? This is why my Camaro is not my daily anymore. I could care less if someone slams my truck door. Regardless of what vehicle you are in, I still hate when people open their doors and nail the car next to them. I do contortions to get in and out of my vehicles so I won't hit the car next to me, but that's another story. But seriously, just don't offer your car up for the car pool from now on. I know you're proud of it and want to show it off a bit, but if those who you show it to don't respect it then you'll just end up pissed off. Save it for the wife and other car guys!

A couple of my pet peeves about these cars and dumb *** passengers:

Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window
Don't close the door by the window!!
Don't close the door by the fuking window!!!!!!!

And I royally hate it when people slam the door! I'd rather them close it too soft and have to re close it. This is my second F-car and my first one had a fuked up window because of this. (now I know how to fix it though)

What do you expect? Most people don't care about cars. Yeah it would annoy me too, but all you have to do is say "whoa easy there killer" or something along those lines, and the passenger will typically apologize for slamming the door or whatever and they are more careful in the future.

1. Dont carry passengers
2. If your passenger is a female you should be opening and closing the door for her anyways.
3. If she cant walk from the back of the parking lot, you need to find a new girl.

Do any of you get frustrated by people who have absolutely no appreciation for the efforts you put into your car? Some of you may have seen my thread where I showed the transformation I have made on my car over the last two years. It's not perfect, but I am pretty proud of how it turned out after driving it around for nearly two years looking like a piece of crap. But today I drove the car to work and go to lunch with the other guys in my dept. Several of them ride with me. On the way to the restaurant the guy next to me is complimenting me on how nice the car looks. He just started to work here a couple of weeks ago so this is the first time he has seen it. I explained to him I have been restoring it over the last couple of years. When we come out of the restaurant, the same guy side opens the door and just lets it fly open and it hits the jeep next to us!! He mutters something and grabs the door after its too late. I resist the temptation kick him in the nuts, and get in the car and head back to work. The top is down and when we get back to work, he gets out and slams the crap out of the door. You all know that with these doors that have no frame around the window, if the window is down, all it takes is a gentle push to close the door. This guy rattles the window slamming it so hard. Neither of the other two guys notices anything unusual and never even stopped their conversation. I wanted to get the guy in a headlock and start slamming the door on his head!!!

Am I just being ****, or do you guys ever get frustrated because people don't think anything about the effort you put into your cars? Personally I can't imagine being that callous. I always pay attention to other's vehicles and make sure I am careful with them when it is evident that the person is careful with the vehicle. Am I alone here?
You are totally normal, some people just don't get it. I would for sure say these guy's dont deserve the honor of riding in your ride. You deserve better my friend! By the way your car looks sick! Good job!

Thanks for the support guys. It helps to know that others understand the frustration. And no, my TA will not be used for the Friday lunch any more.

OP I know exactly how you feel. Nobody in my high school understands the time and effort I put into my car. I just recently got kicked of campus for 6 weeks for double parking in the BACK of the parking lot, a good 50 yards away from other students. They acted like I was keeping someone from parking in the lot or something.

I am with you and no most people have no clue...it's just a car to them.
I had a situation where I had just gotten one of my rear panels fixed and painted. Turned out great...cost $750.00 for the work to be done. Had the car back 2 weeks and while sitting in my car a passenger from another car lets the door fly and hits the panel I just had painted. I got out and she looks at me and says "What??!!". Not, sorry or my bad or anything remotely apologetic. She then proceeds to tell me "It didn't do nothin". I walk around my car to the passenger side and move the door off my panel which she hadn't bothered to move yet. There is of course a ding and a small amount of paint damage in the brand new paint. I point at it and say...."see that, that is something". She gets in the car and the guy driving takes off. He never said a word and quite honestly was looking very concerned.
People are clueless, generally.

Most people have already stated the truth in this thread that most just do not care as much about cars like we do, more so ones that are well beyond 9 years old at this point. I always tell people before getting in my car to PLEASE not slam the door, you barely have to close it for it to shut since they are rather heavy. So yeah you have the right to be pretty ticked since he had no respect and its not like he didn't notice the very nice condition that your car is now in.

My biggest pet peeve is when I park away from others at a parking lot and come out to 2 giant SUVs sitting on each side and chances are the dick parked really close which makes it twice as hard to get in and out of the car thanks to the size of our doors.

^ This ! everytime I someone gets out my car , I watch them as they reach over to shut the door , if they go for the window I just yell at them ..

luckily girls dont slam doors , its guys most of the time so no need to back down , I make them sorry ..

but you are totally right about being mad , I guess like mentioned earlier , some people just see cars as a means of transportation , no wonder they drive their pos cars .. whereas we care about our cars and work on them and try to make them better , if not preserve them well ..

and good job on the transformation of your car , I've seen your thread , looks like you put alot of time into her , the car looks amazing

Something like this happened to me once too, except the lady walked into the store and didn't drive off. I went around to the passenger side, took out a cotton towel that I keep in the back seat (for any messes that may come up while I'm out driving), draped it over the edge of my passenger door skin and swung it open as hard as I could. Left an egg shaped dent in her door. I could have let Karma catch up to her on its own, but sometimes I'm impatient.

OP you seem normal to me. I cant stand when people slam my door, it just shows they don't really care about other people stuff. I know when im in someone else car i make sure i don't have any mud or anything on my shoes before i get it, I don't drag my feet across the panel, i don't slam the door, i use the door handle to close it, and i don't start touching everything once im in. I wont park my car anywhere near someone else. One time i was in my girlfriends new escape and im waiting in a busy parking lot. I was only sitting there for about 30 minutes but her car got hit 3 times by people coming in and out of their vehicles. I eventually moved and parked across the street. I think a lot of people would be surprised how many times their car gets hit by doors when its in a busy parking lot. People also key nice cars just to be a dick. The first time i parked my car up front and i got a nice small scratch all the way down the side of my car. I can buff it out but after breaking my rule once of always park in the back, it got keyed.

Funny story...

I brought a girl home once in my Camaro, parked it next to the GTO in my GARAGE and she proceeds to slam the camaro door in to the GTO. I was like WTF are you doing and she gave me a blank stare and said, "Jeez, they're just cars"....I told her to get back inside and took her straight home. Never called her or talked to her again.....

To answer your question..... yes people are stupid and it pisses me off.
