We can easily make these for everyone
We are making them now for the C5 and C6 Corvette
We make them by hand to order
we use a vinyl resin based paint miced for us for color, we can have them finishe din hydro carbon vinyl or leather as well
we can even make them with tweeter pods as well
Some pics of the C5 and C6 we have done
Send me message if you would like more info

Also Alan, any word on your new universal pods you were developing?
In the mean time, I've cut the pods off one of my Cobra pillars I had laying around and am going to try and add them to a pillar for my 'chicken. Much like maxplusten did. I do have a couple extra pillars to practice on...Thank God. Figuring out how much material to remove and the correct shape to remove isn't as easy as one would think!

mines holding up great, loving the way they turned out. Honestly best bet if you want that look find a used one on a cobra forum and do a hack job yourself. I know it was argued earlier that alot of development and engineering goes into these... but after personally seeing the way there build... ill argue that fact. Not saying there not an awesome product but i dont see much more than a plastic mold and some rivits...

Little late to the party....I emailed Alan after reading this thread. I'm in Memphis, and offered up my car in case SoS was still interested. Alan responded and said they don't believe the demand is high enough to make it worth the effort. Sorry guys...I tried.

At the end of the day a lot of people want a mod, but they don't want to pay the price for a reasonable quality product. It doesn't matter that companies like 6LE are borderline charity for the amount of work it takes to bring the products they do to market.
I'm not saying they don't make some money, but the profit is low. If they were making the same type of products for a Corvette, BMW or Porsche they could justify making these items, because more of those guys pay. Most of us F-body people are cheap asses.

I actually cut up my Speed of Sound pod for my Cobra and built a full pillar assy for another car I have. I was very pleased how it turned out! I would like to find a source for those pods. I'm looking...
I ordered a pillar cover from SpeedHut for my 'Chicken. It covers the entire pillar, but does not replace it. From what I can tell, the only way you will be able to tell is by the vent...it has a cut out for that. But I'm thinking if I glue it over the existing A pillar trim, it's going to look very good. I just need time to get out there and do it. Too many other things going on right now. That, and Aeroforce has REALLY pissed me off lately...

Best way to do the SOS is just buy the pods second hand off a cobra forum and drill the rivits and put the pods on a stock pillar.... literally took me 30 mins to do. Speed of Sound was really upitty when i emailed them about just buying the pods... I dont understand why, seems to me like they would sell alot of just single pods along with there cobra/stang pods and make more profit but...alas... Love the way they came out either way and imo its a much better solution than the old school gauge pillars.

Haha thanks. I've been on the forums since 2003, but on a dare I changed my name to Hot Karl. Its quite funny when people refer to me as hot karl in PMs etc.
Glad someone got it
