+1 For vht! I just did mine last weekend and it looks amazing. I didnt sand after the base coats of vht. cleared it with three coats and it turned out sweet. i wanted it textured since my cars getting shot with some satin in a couple weeks. Ill post pics soon.

I tried the tint. Looked great but I had a corner that wouldn't stick so I pulled them off and bought covers. Here is a pic of it with the tint on them and the reverse cut out of them:

no, ur car looks great. IMO I like the way your tail lights pop so to speak. keep it stock (even though I like my headlight armored'd tails)

I say use some VHT, I did mine a year ago, and really like the results. Wet sanding is really not that hard, once you get a hang of the pressure that's needed.

Here's a link to my post.

I think tinted tail lights look like crap personally (no offense to anyone) I'd personally just add stainless camaro letters to the back of the car so everything isn't so dark. Murdered out/all dark colored cars really lack character, detail, and definition IMO, it's pretty tasteless to just make everything the same/close to the same color.

There are always exceptions to the rule, and some cars can pull of tinted tail lights, but 99% I dislike it. Just my .02, of course

nothing hard about wet sanding,,, just use the proper grit and use lots of water. It will go dull but a coat of clear and let it dry and its shinny again.

well I did it last weekend and I'm satisfied with the results, alittle darker than I wanted but it still looks good I think. I did 3 coats of vht and 2 clear

and one from before

Its still pretty bright much brighter than you would think.I was when I painted them my friends and we were joking around because it was so dark it wasn't even letting any light through anyways Im leaving in about a hour and ill take a picture of my parking lights from about 50' away and ill try the brakes also. Another good thing is I didnt do the led bar on my spoiler and I didnt do that for my own safety at night.

If you do decide to do the LED 3rd brake, just do a light tint of it (1 coat VHT) that would be enough to darken it to blend in more, but wouldn't really affect its brightness.

that would look good, with the vht its very hard to get it to look even when you try to apply lightly that's why my turned out so dark I was focusing on getting them even.

I wouldnt use covers. They mess up your tailights. The bulb heats the plastic of the tailight creating a bulge. Now im on a search for new tailights.
Car looks great though.

I tinted the taillights on my old Camaro with a sheet of tint from ebay, similar like this....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Taill...Q5fAccessories
The black covers are ghetto, bulky as hell and too dark. Never tried the VHT but the tint was super sick when I finished it, not too dark and just perfect imo.

01SSNBM, your NBM looks wicked with the blacked out taillights, I haven't seen a NBM with tinted taillights so didn't know how they would look but looking at yours gave me a boner I was gonna keep the taillights in my SS original but might tint my tailights again lol. You tint your side markers or thats the blackout piece? I bought the black smoked side markers from ebay too for my old Camaro......http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-01...Q5fAccessories

Man cops hated me lol.
