To paint, or not to paint...Thoughts

To paint, or not to paint...Thoughts Has anyone painted the lower air box? pics? I have the clear lid, and the front bumper support cover from emblempros. The lower air box is just looking faded somewhat, what do you think about painting it gloss black? anyone have pics?
dunno if you did this or not, but i painted mine red in my v6 but it chipped alot, but i didnt really take my time so if its done right itll last, but i was wanting to paint my lid and box in my ss gloss black and was wondering if you ever did this and had any pics.
i might give it a try this long weekend so ill post some pics if I have the time to do it. Only thing I'm debating on is if I should scuff it with some sandpaper first, not sure if the scuffs would show through or not.

I also fabbed up a cover for the headlight section and painted that (see pic). If you care for it the way you care for the paint on the rest of the car it looks great for years!

Thanks PF, it definately took the last 12 hours in prep and paint and wait but I really like it, it came out way better than I expected, of course I had to do some touchup but ill put some pictures up tomorrow with the parts in the car. time for some COD and my recliner for now.
Heres some pics in the car, its to orange for my car but until i get the manifold off and paint that its gonna stay this way. I do like how the black is coming out though, after the clear finally clears itll looks good.

The only thing I did not on his post was that after I painted the whole lid black, I made my own slp mask, cut it out before I prepped, then I printed out a camaro fill in on cardboard printer paper and cut out the letters with a razor and used that and I had a spare bowtie decal laying around that I put on before the clear.
