Default Filled, shaved and powder coated LS1 calipers and brackets, pics inside

Hi guys Yes, I'm still alive lol.

Thought you would want to see a project we did for a local customer. I think this could be great for those of you that are looking for the show quality/unique factory calipers for your car

Factory calipers are nice, but leave a bit on the table with the eyelets on the faces, the casting lettering, and the general roughness of the brackets.

As always, we start by 100% tearing down the calipers to the bare castings, then media blasting them.

Next step here was to take the TIG welder and fill in the eyes. This way our fill is 100% metal, zero epoxy involved. Here are pics next to a factory un modified caliper.

Then we grind and shape the welding so it all looks factory

The brackets are also worked on. We grind away and shave all the roughness of the factory casting and the excess material that sticks out here and there.

Last step is show quality powder coating and re-assembly.

Pics next to another powder coated non modified caliper

Pics by themselves

Pics with decals and clear powder over the whole thing to lock the decals on..

We can also do this with factory valve covers for those that don't want to run the coil bosses. Shave, weld, grind, smooth and coat.

Any questions, feel free to ask

This process adds $125 to the cost of the coating work, which is $225 plus shipping for all calipers and brackets(decals are extra). So $325 plus shipping and you have the nicest factory calipers and brackets known to man Full GM rebuild kits still available for $100 option as well(boots, seals, etc)

Sean

Wow the filling in really makes a difference, Beautiful Work. Any reason why you didnt grind off the lettering on top of the red rear calipers making it smooth also?

We didn't shave the lettering on the red ones b/c the customer asked us not to. Why, I have no idea lol. The black ones have everything shaved off, no lettering.

Decals with clear range from $20-30 depends on if you want black or the more expensive chrome/silver pictured on the black calipers above.

so it would be 425 for all 4 practically brand new calipers (new seals and all) plus shipping and my old ones? and just asking on this one, how much would 4 fikse fm10 centers cost to PC?

Close. $225 coating work, $125 for the shave and fill work, $100 if you wanted fresh GM rebuilds installed. So $450 plus shipping and if you wanted us to send an exchange set then yes, you'd be returning your stockers after swapping ours on.

Do those centers on the FM10 come out of the wheel? So we'd be coating centers by themselves or would I be masking them off from the rest of the wheel.

Looks really cool Sean . . . though question for you . . .

On the rear, I see you shave off what I will call the "octagonal eyebrow" . . . but how hard would it be to "fill" and shape the underside of that area, so the the "hole" for the piston access is round, similar to the front ones? . . Not "octagonal"? . . .

alright i was checking because you might want to fix the original post. just so other people dont think the way i do. and the fm10 centers completely come out so i would only ship you the centers, not the whole wheel

Do you remove the pistons when coating? I see you offer a service for rebuilding the caliper but if you remove the pistons, do put in the same seal back in?
