Default hood shocks for Fiberglass hood

i hate when i use the search and cant find then i have to post up..

but what is the part # for the hood shocks i should get for my VFN WS6 hood?

its coming in next week and i think i need to use different hood shocks vs my stock ones that i have now.

VFN can sell them to me for $40.00 but can i find them elsewhere for cheaper?

can anyone help me out?

because the stock shocks are meant to lift the weight of the stock hood and the fiberglass hood weighs significantly less. if the stock shocks are on a lighter hood, there is more pressure on the hood when it is closed and could cause it to flex or warp

Dont feel bad, I was thinking the same thing with my factory struts and factory glass hood. But im betting that the oem ss hood is as heavy as the metal version.

I have a WS.9 Hood from US Exotics and still run on the factory shocks. Should I change them? Probably, have I? No.

You can just take off one lift support and it will work perfect. Have down a few here in town like that. A lot of newer cars are only coming with one as well.

screw it!>...i just went ahead and ordered a set from VFN for $40.00 to go ahead and ship with my hood. They are rated at 35lbs psi. I cross referenced mine and they are supposedly 75lbs psi so i would rather be safe than sorry.

Guys remember OEM WS6, SS hoods are not fiberglass (like aftermarket) they are a composite material.
