Hey all, check out my new custom electron blue paint job! Shes's got 10 coats of paint, 5 coats of clear and custom mixed pearl! The car originally was Navy Blue Metallic. Let me know what you think! Should i keep the door moldings shaved? Goto www.firebirdomain.com and check out the pictures. I am told it looks 10,000 times better in the sunlight. I shall have more pictures probably next week!

Hey thanks for checking the pics out! Its actually a pearl additive that gives it the metallic flake look, alot more than what was in the navy blue! It reminds me of my 01 pewter's finish, now you can really see the sparkle! I can't wait til its done and i get to work on the accents!
Paint job coats around the 10k mark.

Car looks bad ***! Sweet color. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
But in one of the shots, it looks like your brake rotors are on the wrong sides. The slots and crossdrill patterns are directional, aren't they? They look backward to me. Or maybe I'm the backwards one! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />
Not trying to be an ***, just trying to bring that to your attention. Seems like it would eat the pads faster. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

quik3r..All weekend long, I've received some terrific info and help from all the folks using LS1tech,and today is no different.I've been looking for a shade of blue to complement the blackout front grill and rear panel on a 68 Camaro project. Thanks for showing me what can be accomplished with elbow grease and inspiration!

Looks kinda like a bass boat??? j/k I think it looks really good.
Mobe, if his rotors are Eradispeeds they go that way. When I put my on I had every wanna-b-mechanic tell me that they were on wrong. According to Baer they actually stop and cool better being drilled the opposite way.

Hey all, thanks for the compliments, please bookmark www.firebirdomain.com for future updates. I have a very large database of inspirational firebird pictures aswell as links to various untapped resources!
The reason one of the pictures looks reversed is because it is reversed! I switched one around so that it was facing the same direction as the "before" shot hehe. My rotors are on correctly, thanks though hehe.

Don't have any experience with Eradispeeds. Wish I had some on my car though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
As far as being a "wanna-b-mechanic"... Aren't we all! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

It came out nice. I painted a 83 t/a a similar blue too once. Mine came out crappy so I can respect a quality blue paintjob. I think it's pretty hard to lay it on so the color looks uniform. Hats off 2u. Someday though I hope to have a navy blue metallic fbod. Right now mine is arrest-me red.
