Default light up door switches

so i have always wondered if there is a way to make the switches light up on the door, like the power lock and window up/down switches so you can see them at night time, has anyone ever done this?

There is a light bulb above it that lights them up.

There is a really small rectangle/square area right above the switches where light comes though its a really small bulb. I can't remember the bulb number but put LEDs in there for a much better and brighter look.

I made a Thread on trying something like that but I haven't played with em since back then. I'm just on my iPhone so you'll have to search my username to find it.

#74 bulb. Get a LED 3 way, wobble out the hole a bit and you will have a LOT more light going thru it.

Found my old thread! I had hand painted the designs on but I think I'll get some vinyl and hand CUT the designs to mask the factory-style designs over the clear then paint the entire switch, peel the decals then clear the hell out of em!

Ok I'm making some progress on my switches. Sorry I can't post pics from my iPhone tho. A recap of my previous Thread, I used a Dremel with a 1/32" drill bit to cut out the designs on the switches all the way thru. This left a hole in the middle of the switch. I covered te outside of the hole with tape and filled the inside with clear epoxy. When the epoxy dried I pulled the tape and sanded it smooth.

Now today I used the 3M Plastic Painters Tape I have and an exacto knife to cut stock-looking decals out. I'll place these over the clear epoxy and use them to mask off the part I want to glow. Later I'll paint the switches with black paint. Several coats so it blocks the light well. Then peel my little decals off and clear coat the hell out of the whole switch. I'm gonna pull surface mount LEDs from a damaged LED strip I have and glue them to the underside of the switches. Since that clear epoxy isn't white, I'll probably wire the LEDs to stay on when the car is on.
Thoughts? Ideas?

Your passenger side might be dimmer than your drivers side depending on how you wire it up, otherwise, no other thoughts or ideas from me.

^ Thats because the power the passenger side gets comes thru the drivers side first. But I plan to pull power directly from the switch. So I can use slightly less ohm resistors on the pass side to make up the difference. How many coats of paint do you think it'll take to keep light from shining thru?
