Default Finally got my intake painted *pics*

I think it looks awsome. Pretty good match to my blackbird stripes even though it was a spray can. If it were real paint it would have been perfect, just needed a little more metallic to it. I can't wait to get it back on and see how it looks. I have regular corvette FRC's now and plan on painted them the same color with some ghost flames on them.

Is taking off the intake difficult at all? I really want to paint my intake, but i'm a little scared, when it comes to taking it off. I'm afraid I might screw something up.

What color is that anyways and what brand did you use? and did you use a clear coat as well?

It's dupi-color GMC grey metallic.

Taking the intake off isn't bad I used the instructions on ls1howto.com so all I had to do was pretty much follow those steps. There are a few things that they didn't tell you about but once you start pulling you just look at see whats still connected lol. I think it took me and my buddy an 1-1.5 hours to pull it taking our time pretty much laying out all the parts as we took them off. I'd recommened doing it with 2 people though, to take the intake off you have to pull out and hold up 4 bolts at the same time, kinda hard to do with only 2 hands.

Good luck and thanks for the comments.

A trick for removing the intake - wrap some hose or flex tubing around the back 4 bolts to hold them up. About 1 1/2" - 2" should give you the room you need.

Man, that looks awesome--great work! Makes me wish I would've painted my LS6 intake before I installed it.
