Good choice. A bit more work to install though.

However, regarding the Morimoto Mini, avoid the D2S version until they come out with an improved version. The Morimoto Mini D2S is an older design with lower output than the newer Morimoto Mini H1 (version 4.1 last I checked). Don't let the name misslead you. The Morimoto Mini H1 is an aftermarket HID projector designed around a H1 HID kit instead of an OEM D2S bulb. This makes it a little more compact. There has been some talk about releasing a new version of the Morimoto Mini D2S with the advancements of the H1 version to improve its output. If you want, I can get you output pics showing the output of the FX-R, Mini H1, and Mini D2S (and their outputs fall in that order with the Mini H1 close to the FX-R and the Mini D2S a noticeable 3rd place).

EDIT: I just looked at The Retrofit Source and the Mini D2S version is now version 2.0. Maybe they did improve it to make it more like the Mini H1. You'll have to contact them to find out. Either way, the back of the Mini D2S is a little larger than the Mini H1 and probably won't directly fit in a 9006 hole like the Mini H1 should.

I'm partial to an OEM FX D2S projector myself, but I just wanted to clarify the other projector.

i hate every single aftermarket head light for camaro's they look so damn cheesy, even sonars. i dont think it matters if you dont have to hook them up. if you still get up close you can see where they are. also i hate when they change the high beam reflector, i think it needs to be an oval shape the sonar's circle halo around it just looks awkward i think. lol i have whistler mod done by me and love the look. i want HID's but i just dont want to be that *** with them in stock reflector housing lol

VIP - Excellent info and you are correct about the morimoto comparison. The new unit is much improved over the original and we have been using it in our new 7" replacement housing with excellent results. The different housings have arrived so we are getting to work.

Alright, so this thread actually got Sommer way more custom work than we expected, lol! I talked to our vendor though and they are actually willing to Whistler for us as well.

I waited to post until I got the first set, got them today and they look great so we have that lined up. Whistlered straight from our supplier for the same price.

Now we can offer whatever custom color you want from Sommer, price pending...

We are also working with BLS on a completely different than factory (way better) projector setup...

Man, how did this get so carried away ???

A quality, non led/halo, projector headlight will sell like hotcakes!

Especially the fact that they are being made my f-body enthusiasts, here in the US, is alot more appealing.

I have the sonars, and am starting to dislike them. I am 100% in for a set of projectors done by 6LE or BLS.

When these become available I think I will just burn my sonars!!!

This will be EPIC.
