My dad found me the plastic material and I cut out the shape to fit the ash tray (looks like interior, not exact but it's better than a flat piece of metal, IMO). Thanks BlackBirdDaddy for that.

I picked up the lighted switch from ebay. For a cutout you'll need a different switch.

I forgot to wire up an in-line fuse for the switch, so I just ordered one from ebay as well. It's a pretty self explanatory install so I don't think I'll get pictures of that.

Sorry, no pictures just yet. I have all the wiring done and everything in place, but it's a little sloppy and I've got a better way of doing it...I've decided to bite the bullet and get the bi-xenon Morimoto H1 projectors, so I'll get those installed and clean everything up. I just have a couple questions for TheRetrofitSource so I'm waiting for a response (they are closed on weekends). So hopefully early next week I'll have them ordered.

Well ****, I went to paint the assembly after doing all the cutting for the projectors and the whole area that I painted lifted (used 2 different types of gloss black paint). Now I need to buy another set of headlight assemblies and redo EVERYTHING. Great. Another setback. And now you guys have to wait even longer. I'm so damn pissed. Sorry for the anger.

Just as I normally would, scotch brite and DX320. I used 2 different types of paint so I guess they didn't react well.

Bumping it up...

So I've spoken with TRS about the projectors, looking like either tomorrow or friday I'll have them ordered. I'm excited

Also may have another set of headlights coming.

Sorry again guys, for my anger...I get a temper over things I shouldn't. My dad knows this well...sorry dad for having to deal with me over the weekend!

So I got a new used set of headlights today. Got them apart and drilled everything for the projectors and did a test fit. Man, they are close to the lense...but I heard that's better for the cutoff so that's ok. Also prepped one of them so it's ready for paint. The other one I'm going to prep tomorrow. By the end of next week they should be all together and done or very close to done...

Just an update....

Got everything cut/drilled that needed to be cut and drilled. Painted the inside of the headlights gloss black. I'm going to give the paint a day to set before going any further. But everything should be done by friday or saturday. The back side of the headlights is going to be satin.

Stuck the projectors in the headlights, they gave the headlights a whole new look, for the better.

Painted the back of the headlights today. All I have left to do is reassemble, and tuck some wires away. I'm just waiting for a couple small parts for the projectors that were not sent, and an HID kit.

Basically just watching paint dry I'm waiting to receive the other little parts for the install.

Paint turned out real nice, although I kind of wish I had done satin on the inside. Gloss is pretty shiny. But oh well. No more messing with paint if it's about perfect. I did satin on the outside of the housing.

In other news, the car is coming out of storage in a few weeks...and it's getting an SLP SS grill to finish off the front end (although I'm going to tint the marker lights and tail lights). I bought the grill used and it needs quite a bit of work. I'm going to paint the SS letters on, $50 is the cheapest I could find for a new OEM emblem.

They look quite different now that the whole headlight is painted black and with projectors. I may or may not be able to offer those as an option, we'll see...
