I would have gotten snowflakes over those rims. There are a bunch of them for sale with tires for under 200 by me. I sold 4 black ones with good tread left for $130 a few months back. Hell, Im going tomorrow to pick up 4 gunmetal zr1s with tires for $75...

ye but i picked mine up 5 miles down the road. if i bought from anywhere else i would have to ship.
i think it worked out. plus ill probably buy another good lightweight set too.
but i want a cam and heads, im more performance than looks anyway. the smaller rim is good for the track and the tires are cheap so it was perfect for me.

i like the halos, but have heard mixed reviews.
also have considered just new stock headlights with the whistler mod, and bright *** bulbs
also new foglights and turnsignals b/c the turns are cracked and the foglights are hazed over.

my salad shooters on my z28 have huge tires. i was thinking of putting thinner tires on it. it'd make it sit lower too. whats the smallest yall think i can go?

Lacking air in the rear tire I know but I would say that would be the smallest (245/45)
Don't mind the poo, birds just really like using it as a toilet

Resurrecting this thread to show love for black salad shooters. I have some as my storage wheels (when car sits for long periods of time). Other than the fact that it looks funny because I am used to a bigger wheel/tire combo, I like the black snooters. Mine were rattle canned black (terrible job), the plasti-dip looks like a good idea. Did you have to prep the wheels at all?

used steel wool (brillo pad) to smooth the wheels up some.
but it didnt take much prep at all.

The plastidip came out pretty good. I used to want to paint my salad shooters like that, except leaving the lip silver.. I never got around to it, then I ended up buying some black z06's... They look good though! The chrome ones actually look pretty nice too, but not many came that way unfortunately

so its been quite a while and the wheels still look good cleaned up
heres two quick picas of the car (kinda in the middle of doing my visual ideas so ignore the plasti-dipped GS stripes over the factory pinstriping.....whats left of it lol)
the white/silver spots you see on the rims is where i had to change the weights and have yet to paint over those sections. (local cars and coffee meet the other day)
im gonna remove the factory pinstriping and the side molding and redo the GS stripes in plasti dip or vynal.
also getting 4th gen zl1 emblems at some point, ive found a list of parts i need to turn the car into a clone of the old zl1

Yeah they look nice, the Car looks allot meaner with that easy plasti-dip mod. Way to bring the wheels back from the dead.
I might try these on mine, IDK. I was looking for pics of plasti-dipped 17" 2000 (N66) "Salad Shooters" but did'nt find anything on them. I hope they look good on a silver WS6. I'll post a reply if I do.

"So now im going to plasti-dip them black. and depending on how well that goes i may plasti dip the whole car.(not likely)"
what a unique and original idea, maybe a flame paint job too, never see those either lol
