Honest pay someone, tinting isnt that hard but to do the hatch in one piece is hard, tint is cheap nowadays, around here 175 for sides, hatch, front strip, and its guaranteed for life, if you think you can do it go for it, but by the time you buy the tint, and tools /time to do it, your not saving that much, then what if you mess up the tint/which that chance is high lol,

I wouldn't attempt it, and I've tinted windows before. The hatch has some kind of weird design towards the top, those little painted dots, and they are hard to work with, you have to spend a good deal of time on that area or it will bubble there almost instantly.

Definitely keep looking. Perhaps, around your area, that's what the going install is going for. If so make sure that price INCLUDES a lifetime warranty, and if possible, the business has been there for a while. Not every business stays around forever. The the longer, definitely the better.

I do a lot of vinyl on racecars and other vehicles so I have some experience dealing with big decals and that type of thing so I decided to tint my own hatch and it came out really well. I bought one of the pre cut kits they sell on e-bay to tint my windows. I removed the hatch from the car and The first thing I did was lay a piece of black vinyl over the dot matrix on the top of the window to prevent the tint from not sticking there. Then I cleaned the window really well and sprayed it with a water/baby shampoo mixture and then layed the tint down. It went on ok and only lifted a little bit on the very bottom of the window so I just kept an eye on it and squeeged it down as soon as it lifted. If I had no experience with decals or anything I would just pay someone to do it so it comes out looking good
