4th gen air extracting hood
Does anyone know of a true air extracting hood that will maintain the ram air functionality of my oem '99 Camaro SS hood?
I've got a modified LS3 in it, and its pretty much a dedicated road course car. I'd really like to start reducing the underhood temps. I saw Mecham has something that might work, and I'm waiting to hear back on if it provides the same ram air ability the factory hood provides.

Mecham has single and multi-extractor hoods for LS Camaros. The multi extractor one looks a bit ricey IMO but I liked the single enough to buy one for my last Camaro. The intake scoop was right in front of the airbox, couldve been a bit bigger. The single extractor worked like a charm.

Corvette guys seem to like these. Place one on each side of the hood over the headers and should help. But if it rains, you are getting water wherever you place the vents.

I would rather add vents to a stock hood than buy any aftermarket version that claims to be a heat extractor hood, unless it was designed and manufactured by someone that races a 4th gen camaro and has data to prove it works.
