Default 4th gen air extracting hood

Does anyone know of a true air extracting hood that will maintain the ram air functionality of my oem '99 Camaro SS hood?

I've got a modified LS3 in it, and its pretty much a dedicated road course car. I'd really like to start reducing the underhood temps. I saw Mecham has something that might work, and I'm waiting to hear back on if it provides the same ram air ability the factory hood provides.

You can cut vents into the back of the hood frame to allow heat to flow out of the engine bay

Is there a particular reason for wanting to maintain the factory ram air, because it is almost as useless as **** on a boar hog? It would probably be better at extracting under hood temps if you rerouted it and did a Chris 1313 ram air kit.

Mecham has single and multi-extractor hoods for LS Camaros. The multi extractor one looks a bit ricey IMO but I liked the single enough to buy one for my last Camaro. The intake scoop was right in front of the airbox, couldve been a bit bigger. The single extractor worked like a charm.

Thank you!

Does the air intake route air to the air box, or just generally under the hood? If possible, can you share a pic of the underside of the hood. I'd like to see what the scoop is doing.

It routes air to the airbox directly to the airbox. I don't have any pics of the underside of the hood, sold the car 8 years ago so won't be able to take one.

Corvette guys seem to like these. Place one on each side of the hood over the headers and should help. But if it rains, you are getting water wherever you place the vents.

I would rather add vents to a stock hood than buy any aftermarket version that claims to be a heat extractor hood, unless it was designed and manufactured by someone that races a 4th gen camaro and has data to prove it works.
