Default My first venture into wet sand and buffing.

Have buffed a lot of cars with the below kit, but never really did any wet sanding.

I bought this kit a few years ago, have since re-stocked everything that came in the kit.

http://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-meguiars-kit.html

I had the front and rear bumper covers repainted about 2 weeks ago and they had orange peel, so here we go.

Here is what I used, only used orange pads to cut, red pads to put on the wax and removed wax with microfiber towels.

Here is where I started.

Here is where I was at after wet sanding 1000/1500/2000

In the pics I put what I used and how many passes, I ended up going back and doing at least 6-7 more passes with the M105 and 3 more with the M205.

Here is what I ended up with, my elbows need some new grease but it aint too bad.

Buffed the entire car with M105/M205 and Pinnacle wax to finish. All the little white specs are dust, can't keep them off the car lol.

Any thoughts and criticism welcome.

Thumbs up

Lots of work with the DA polisher mate, but she looks damned good. Gotta love black... when it's clean.

The car looks great and Pinnacle is gonna attract dust, just the nature of that type of wax.

I'd recommend removing the wax from the freshly painted areas immediately though.

Hey mate.. if you're offering? Alabamie is a bit of a drive though...

*edit*
BTW, 3M has a very nice 5-step system for this... lots of work, but it's the best I've used thus far.

Yea, def a lot of work for the D/A MOST post about wetsanding involve a rotary and wool pad and then step down since its a ton of leveling. But the orange pad and m105 gets a lot of work done!
