Let me tell you, I've been putting off installing this for probably 2 years and for good reason. I had a feeling it was going to be difficult and that proved to be very true. I consider myself very mechanically inclined as I've done 99% of all the work myself on my car, and this stupid thing ranks up there with the hardest thing I've ever done. It took a solid 4 hours, mostly trying to piece the thing back together, especially the geared ignition switch part not wanting to work right.
Steering wheel is a brand new C6 wheel with blue stitching and I was able to find a OEM cover at the junk yard to delete the buttons. I got a airbag off of something like a G6 and found this nice blue emblem overlay to get rid of the red.

these are the colors that correspond to linking the 2012 C6 wheel to the 2000 Camaro wheel in terms of radio controls.
the Camaro has different colors once you remove the airbag cover. You have to follow the column down to where the yellow airbag wires connect. There is an adjacent thick gray wire that will follow the yellow Airbag wire up and through the clockspring. It will have 4 wires inside of it. These are the wires we will use for the radio controls.
under the dash, the colors that enter the gray wire are
yellow- 12volts
dark blue- radio control output
gray/black-switch illumination
black- ground
the colors change once they reach the wheel. Pull back the gray wire connector UNDER the dash and write down the new colors that will follow up to the connector in the wheel. I don't rememnber all the colors but I do know that blue becomes green, red becomes black, yellow stays yellow and grey becomes pinkish. Do yourself a favor and look for yourself.
anyway. If you are looking where the original colors plug into the new colors, pay attention below.
C6 wheel wires
black-ground
yellow-switch illumination
purple/white- 12volts
blue- steering wheel radio control output.
so if we use the original colors under the dash, here is how the wires connect
C6. Camaro
blk- black(which is actually red on the connector)
yellow-gray/black
purple/white- yellow
blue-blue(which is green on the connector)
the blue wire will connect to PAC-1 converter that allows steering wheel controls to interface with my Kenwood radio.
anyway, it worked

Finally, I got around to have circuit boards made! These are the boards to make the Cruise & Radio controls (as well as the Trip computer buttons) available using the C6 wheel on the F-bodies.
At last some progress...
