Default Billet coil brackets and wrinkle painted valve covers...!

I have had a few people sending me pm's about my valve covers and brackets so I figured I would post up a link on what I did.

These are the coil brackets that I bought.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Billet-Aluminum-LS-Series-Coil-Brackets-LS1-LS6-LSx-LS-/190890852585?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c71fb40e9&vxp=mtr
The finish was satin so I polished them a bit before installing. The finish was super smooth to start with so polishing them was easy.

For the valve covers I cleaned the OEM ones up the best I could, sanded them, taped them up and sprayed with VHT wrinkle paint and baked them in the oven.

Here are a few pics.

This is how they looked before the polishing.

This is how they looked after the polishing.

I plan to get another set of valve covers and wrinkle paint them red.

Wrinkle coat is awesome. That VHT wrinkle rattle can is tough, uniform, and even. Love it.

I wonder if those brackets will work with the truck coils?

I need to grab some of this VHT Wrinkle paint and paint my valve covers!

I'm not sure if they will or not. Shipping was just changed from Ebay's high calculated cost to a flat rate of $7.00 for UPS ground service.

NOPE. Truck coils have a different mounting point location.

Billet brackets for truck coils, LS2's, and LS7's are in the works. Brackets were relisted under the following link:

Still working on those brackets for the truck coils. They are much more difficult to engineer in billet form because of the clearance required for the coil snout. Getting very close though!

I'm looking forward to seeing them once you've got them on the motor.

Same. I was wondering how the wiring will be routed without any place for the stock clips to go... Guessing the wiring will be re-done.

I've been thinking about painting my valve covers and doing a "cleaner" look in regards to the coil packs, but like you said, unless you re-do/re-route the wiring, it's not going to look much different.

Will do. I figure it would be something nice and inexpensive to do over the winter. Not sure if I like the crinkle black or gloss black for the valve covers.

Basically the same thing I did, a great looking set-up without having to buy overpriced valvecovers

Can't wait to see it finished with all the wiring.

A tip for you: remove the neck for the oil filler - it will look much cleaner
