Default Recommendations for RAM air hood

I'm looking to replace my hood as it has some paint chips and would have to be repainted anyhow. I've always wanted a RAM air hood.

Anyone have any recommendations? Also maybe what to avoid as well. I'm thinking 400-500 should do it ... and what material... carbon fiber?

Actually the more I look at those hoods - the more I don't like them. They're a bit too "nasally" for me. I think I prefer the Firehawk hood even over the Raptor. I think the Firehawk requires some cutting on a base TA.

The Firehawk hood's do call for some cutting on the bumper. I don't know about those Superhawk hoods as they were purposely made to fit stock TA's.

I think the Superhawk hood is plug and play and no cutting required. You are correct about the Firehawk hood ....and is the reason that I won't go with that. I'm about to pull the trigger on a WS9 hood that has heat extractor ports. It's growing on me the more that I look at it. It's made by the same guy that hand builds the Superhawk hoods. I've heard nothing but good things regarding his workmanship. Part of me is super excited and the other part is thinking that that money could go towards making more horsepower instead of aesthetics.

The aftermarket hood's on 98-02 Firebird's, Formula's, and Trans Am's make the world of a difference on the cars stance. Unless you were going to install a shaker look the stock hood kind of looks out of place. Ultimately you'd have to decide what you could pick up in performance parts that would be more worth it for the same price.
