Default Your opinions please.....

Recent purchase. 2001 Pewter Z28, 25,000 miles. Need advice on what appearance mods people would make. I have already changed the wheel & tire combo. (The Bra will come off the front as soon as the winter gravel is off of the roads). The car is completely stock. Was never driven in rain or snow and has lived its life in a garage. I think the tail lights need to change, needs an SS hood. what else????

Get the most important appearance mod done.. Stance. Pick up some BMR lowering springs and completely change the look and feel of the car. Get some shocks while you're at it. Tint is another basic.

Then get to the other details.. grill (SLP bowtie), headlights (whistlered), parking lights (clear), and whatever else tickles your fancy..

-Whistler headlights for sure
-Black jewel front markers
-Black Berger panel
-SS hood with black manta stripe
-SS spoiler
-SS or bowtie grille
-35% or darker tinted windows
-springs and shocks to drop it a bit

Example of the Manta and Whistler headlights together:

Another good one of the Manta stripe, and black markers:

And the Berger panel with SS spoiler:

Default Stance

If you want to go low the sportlines are nice, I use them. No problem at all just be careful at speedbumps, Bilstein shocks with Eibach sportline works fine for me >.

I have an extra set of headlights. I will have to try out the whistler mod on. Has anyone ever tried painting them pewter instead of the black??

I've seen pictures of Camaros with body color headlights and it never seems to look quite right. I'd say go Whistler, they really should have came stock like that

What projectors & HIDs should I go with if I go that direction??? My Girlfriend lives out in the boonies and every time I take her home I see at least a dozen Mule deer. I had some aftermarket headlights on my Mystic Z28 and they were terrible for driving at night in deer country.

If you dont feel like fabricating or your not capable, get the H1 morimoto mini's from the retrofit source. It doesnt get much easier than that for real OEM quality bi-xenon with a nice sharp cutoff and output.

If you are up for fabricating, the FX-r and LS460 projectors are amazing. You will spend alot more money going this route though.

I really like the pewter color. I noticed it kind of changes to a bronze color in the evening. It looks good in the garage next to my Mystic green '00 Z28 convertible. I actually like it better than the green.
