Sanded and buffed my 06 GTO!

Sanded and buffed my 06 GTO! Hey guys just wanted to share a few pics of my latest project on the Gto. Spent about 20-25hrs wet sanding and buffing to remove the orange peel from the factory clear coat.
Started by sanding with 2500 grit paying attention to not get near the edges
Then I started compounding with my rotary buffer with a yellow CCS pad attached using Menzerna fg400 compound to remove the scratches.
Then after washing off all the compounding residue it was time for polishing. Due to how well the compound finished down I was able to go to finishing polish.
These are after washing all the compound off.
All polished and waxed.
Just ordered this new wax from pinnacle. This should add a little extra pop and great protection.

Goddamn that thing looks incredible... I wish I had the tools (and attention span lol) to do this to mine. Of course, it would help if the whole front clip wasn't FUBAR'd. Kinda detracts from how nice my quarters look when you look at the front of the car haha

Yeah a da works great but I wanted better just like my Camaro was. Nothing like flat paint.
You can def mess up if you aren't careful with a rotary. Takes time and patients.

OMG!!! That def looks amazing. I grit my teeth every time I see somebody do that to their cars. It looks so bad at 1st, but looks so nice when finished. Better then factory!! Great work again.

That's something that I have always said when it comes to this. It has to look worse before it can look better! Some people think I am crazy(Which I probably am) but I know how I like my paint to look.

I used TurboWax finishing polish/swirl remover on my DA with a white CCS smart pad. Then I topped with a coat of Victoria's Concours Red wax.
I just ordered this new wax from Pinnacle. Should be here today and will really look awesome! Can't wait.

I saw that new wax. Its really rich for my blood, but you cant put a price on perfection.
I have an old black F350 that I want to practice on. I have a Makita buffer, so I plan on grabbing a few different pads and compounds to mess around with.

That's the best way to learn. I started 12yrs ago in a body shop. The manager stuck me in the corner with a beat up black grand marquis that was going to the auction and showed me how to wet sand the whole car then compound it out. We didnt have the products really to finish it down mint but I just improved from there.
