Default Full LED's and Sequential Tail Lights -Which Flasher?

I've read 8 or so antique threads now, and over the past 5 years, it seems there's still no consensus on what flasher to use.

I currently have front LED turn signals, and standard bulbs in the rear, with sequential tail lights and Tridon EL12 flashers.

The EL12's are a bit too fast for my sequentials, and I know they won't work once I replace the rears with LED's as well.

I'm NOT willing to give up the clicking sound, I really pay attention to that.

So, has anyone found a proper No Load flasher which also has a slow enough rate for sequentials AND has sound?

Yes I did that swap a out 2 years ago and swapped only the turn signal flasher(there's one for signals and flashers). I used the EL12 and it works great and still has sound.

Uh huh... Well thank you, you are the only one who replied, but like I said, "The EL12's are a bit too fast for my sequentials, and I know they won't work once I replace the rears with LED's as well." ...

In case no one else replies, this is the one I use but NO, it does not have sound. I know that is one of your requirements but if all else fails...

Ah, thanks. I'm actually reconsidering the sound requirement. I changed my gauge cluster to LED's and the turn signal LED's are so bright that I don't think I would ever not notice that they were on.

I used a Ford flasher that I modded to make it adjustable. basically its just adding a adjustable resistor (pot). I wired it up and keep it in the console so I can adjust the flash rate easily.

I used EF32RL with my LEDs. They work great and click.

Well, I just installed a couple "CF12ANL-01 LED Bulb Electronic Flasher" units from Superbrightleds.com. They're still way too fast for Sequentials, maybe even a little faster than a the EL12's... but at least they're electronic, they'll work for now... ugh. This is such a stupid problem.

Can anyone explain how to make them adjustable? I know I need an adjustable resistor, just not sure which one or where to solder the leads to...

For now, yes. I don't know what would happen if I changed all of them to LED. The rear LED's are kind of expensive so I was putting that off until I got flashers that could do the sequentials slowly enough.

I just found an article on instructables detailing how to make an electronic flasher adjustable so I'm probably going to do that this weekend, I'm not sure if I can post the link to it here or not... It's not selling anything.

I have a feeling it would be fixed if you went full lED... but I agree. That is why I am hesitant about going rear LED. I heard they are pricey. Which ones were you looking at?

Well that's the other reason. I tried some leftover 194 bulbs for the outer brake lights/3rd sequential light, and they're full on when I hit the brakes or they're flashing, but they just flicker like crazy under the lower current when your headlights are on but you're not braking. I have no idea what LED's you're supposed to use to have them be able to dim and brighten like the normal bulbs. Any idea yourself?

Well, This was written up for a 93-97 model T/A but most of the bulbs are still correct for the 98-02 model. A few of the LED models here have come down in price since this was written too. But the 194 bulbs listed are the ones I tried and they flickered...

Oh, I actually did change my 3rd brake light to LED (02 T/A with hi-spoiler), I just replaced the 194 bulbs with the red 194 LED's and it's bright as heck.

Ooooh, ok. Hmm... Yeah, good luck to you on that. Maybe 6LE will offer that one day.

I'm assuming you've seen this one? Picture in the third post.

Not sure if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

Also, google image search "trans am clear third brake light" a couple results there look promising too.

You've gotta be kidding me. I got two 500k ohm potentiometers, and i opened up one of the 2 flashers from superbrightleds and they're water-proofed, aka filled with hot glue. No way to get to the board.... uuuugh.

Does anyone know an electronic flasher model that does NOT have this issue?
