Is there any different part numbers that would place it in the original position?

No there's not, I have the shortest hub available and quick releases are very similar in size. But to be honest once you have it you don't know any better.

They should, I'm not 100% sure, I know all nrg wheels will fit the product list I provided.

The Grant wheels are a different bolt pattern, but any; Momo, Sparco, OMP, Personnal, or of course NRG wheel should work (not sure about the Takatas, Bride, or any of the other Nippon company's wheels though).

I have a sparco wheel on a regular NRG hub, pretty sure any 6 bolt will work

wonder if it'd be possible to have my stock wheel modified to be a 6 bolt.. I hate the thought of taking out the factory wheel in the 78 Z

FWIW I called them yesterday to order and the guy said in two months they will be releasing a lot more models to choose from. I would prefer black with black stitching. And I asked the same questions you did above (from this week) regarding the hub. They only sell the short hub.

nice when things are made easy. Not sure if this would work or not though. Made to convert 6 bolt wheel to 3 bolt.. the 78's wheel is a 3 bolt and I need it to be a 6. can't think of why it wouldn't work the other way around.

Appreciate this thread. Here's what I did so far. Only have 1 question.

Horn wiring?

Which colors is it for a 2000 Camaro SS?

The HUB ADAPTER I found on AMAZON: The HUB ADAPTER I found on AMAZON:

That was $29

So I live in the ghetto, and to some degree, removing the steering wheel is a theft deterrent. It takes about 30 seconds to unscrew it, and it's cheaper than the NRG quick-hub.

The wheel was $30 plus shipping from Amazon. The exact one I used there is sold out, and I doubt it will be available anytime soon.

It's made by a company called SPEC-D. Feels really nice when driving.

So I have a couple of issues that i'm dealing with after all is said and done.

1) NRG HUB fits well, but I didn't use the "clock dial" for the electronics. No horn still, but I think it's the green and yellow wire.

2) I removed the steering wheel lock CAM, which IMHO is useless, and I think the install went better that way. Only thing is, now the blinker turns on when I steer around corners. I guess the actuator is catching now that the lock CAM is removed.

3) Any problem removing that turn signal actuator catch too? I can't see why not.

4) Am I nuts for wanting to install push button start in this car? If there was a way, I could delete the whole ignition and fabricate a more sleek looking tilt column. Just an idea.

5) Column is a bit loose, meaning it wabbles around enough to make me want to tighten it up.

To your issues. I completely removed the clock spring. The wire that comes out the back I cut then pulled it down the bottom of the steering column and removed it from the plug it attaches to. If you don't remove it it binds the blinker.

Now to wire up the horn I cut the wires from my stock steering wheel that connects to that white push plug. Now you use that to wire the horn to the hub.

Sup Bro!

When you and I did my Quick Release, we never got the horn to work. I need to figure out something, because I need my horn so I can lay on it, when I get behind some stupid asshat, lol...

Lol it does come in handy for retards. I will say from what I remember it seemed like you have some kind of issue with wiring somewhere. Did it work before we did that? Might need to find some leads and use a voltmeter to track the issue down.
