Default Zaino

I washed the car with dawn then used the clay then washed and dried it again and put the z-2 mixed with ZFX on. Let sit for an hour then tried to wipe it off and it wouldn't really come off, you could still see where I put it on. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

you probably waited too long to wipe if off, especially if the car was in direct sunlight. I ususally only wait 30 mins or so, then wipe it off

I kept going back outside to see if it was dry and tried wiping off a small section and could still see small lines from where I wiped it on...and it wasn't in direct sunlight

It means that you put it on way too thick. You should hardly be able to see it going down as you are applying.

Get the most of it off, and go around the car with the Z6 should go away. No need for Dawn, just a littel more elbow grease.

just let it sit for a long time, over night if you can, then try to remove it with a white towel. just use like 2 drops for the hood 2 for the side and 2 for the back, thats what I do. Plus i think the Z-FX is a waist of money, It's $29 and it's so small, and I don't notice a quicker drying time. 1 hour i can wipe it off with or without Z-FX. I love all the zaino products except the plastic cleaner, and the ZFX. The leather cleaner and Zaino Spray are the best IMO.

here's proof that it works

With ZFX, you don't wait. You apply it and buff it off. Never apply it in direct sunlight either, regardless of what anyone tells you!

I only had to wait around 2-5 minutes for the Z2 or Z5 to dry with ZFX. I agree with what was said above, you probably used way too much.

From Zaino's website -

Applying ZFX™ Enabled Show Car Polish
Follow these easy steps:

Apply Zaino Show Car Polish enabled with ZFX™ with our Zaino Bros' Custom Polish Applicator. Use the polish sparingly. A small amount goes a long way, and you will be applying multiple coats.
Squirt a dime size dab of polish on your applicator and rub it into your paint using circular hand motions. Then, go over the same area using a straight back and forth motion on top panels and an up and down motion on side panels. Allow the polish to haze for 20 to 30 minutes.
Buff off the Show Car Polish residue with a high quality, 100% cotton, made in the USA, detailing towel.
After buffing, spray the car with a light mist of Z-6 Ultra Clean™ Gloss Enhancer Spray detailing spray. Z-6 will help buff away any remaining residue and enhances the brightness of the finish. Using Z-6, the next coat of Zaino Show Car Polish will apply even easier.
You're now ready to apply your next coat of Zaino Show Car Polish enabled with ZFX™. There's no need to wait. Simply follow steps 1-4 above one more time. Use a fresh cotton buffing towel to remove each coat of ZFX™ enabled Show Car Polish..

I wait about 15 minutes after applying the coat of Z2 (or Z5) with ZFX.
Goes on thin, and comes off super easy. Only takes 1/2 an ounce per coat.

It should actually only take 1/3 oz. per coat. Half of the ZFX bottle should do 3 coats.

I never wait more than 5-10 minutes, because when you apply it in thin layers like you're supposed to, it hazes very quickly! I usually do it in the evening, too, because you don't want to apply it on a hot car. Just something I've learned through my own personal experiences!

Apply it thiner. I don't know of any modern day product that is applied any other way. You guys/gals are just going to have to learn to apply products super thin.

It helps if you mist your applicator with some quick detailer.

Yeah... Thin coats are the way to go. I recently used Meguiars #26 wax... I thought I would need a PC just to remove it, but it turns out that if you apply it thin and just let it haze (do the finger swipe) it comes off real easy. It was so easy I'm tempted to get some old school #16 paste to really see what I can do.

Thick coats and waiting a long time really increase the difficulty of removing a product. Also, think of it this way... everything you wipe off was extra. Why apply extra product just to dispose of? The actual layer of wax/sealant is incredibly thin.
