Default tips for removing fingerprints from body?

So my sweet () little nephew decided to run his hands down the one side of my car. The car has light dust on it from construction nearby and I'm worried the clear coat is scratched now and those marks will stay there even after a wash. Any tips getting that out? .... hand wash, clay and wax?

Thanks.

Why not just wipe them off with a microfiber towel?

Just wash it like normal. They're just fingerprints. It isn't like he had sandpaper or anything. Probably would get more scratches just driving down the road than putting your hand on your car while there is dust resting on it.

What color is your car? Depending on how much pressure was applied and how dusty, chances are you will see the scratches when clean. Especially if it's gravel dust. I'm assuming he ran is hand across the paint in a continuous motion and it's not just stationary prints?

I guess if your car is like a perfectly polished mirror then yeah you'll get visible marks. I've never had a car that nice. Sorry if I misunderstood.

WASH IT, then see what you have to deal with, if there is anything noticeable then we can talk paint correction tips (well the pros can anyway).

Dry wiping a dusty car = clear coat damage.
NEVER dry wipe a car...
Keep it up and the paint will look like this:

OP wash the car and inspect if there is any marks. If there is you can remove them with a polisher or buffer.

If its just finger prints, use some quick detailer spray on the spot and check out if you dont want to watch the whole car

if it has dust use adams waterless wash with a waffle weave towel. It helps wipe off the car without the scratches. Then use detail spray to leave it clean.

I cant imagine washing my whole car everytime it gets fingertips.

Odds are the car has a minimum of light swirling giving the circumstances. Just was the car properly due to work zone dust.

Are you wanting to remove your fingerprints? Heat works. ALOT of heat. You want to sear the pads of your fingers just enough to melt away any distinguishing lines. You could also cut off the layer of skin. I also saw on an episode of CSI where the perp got a razor blade and sliced his finger tips and then re-glued the pieces back on like a puzzle but purposely mixing it up so that the fingerprint was completely indistinguishable.

Or are you just wanting to remove prints from the body of your victim? I'd be more concerned about DNA residue. In which case, bleach works well.

I didn't bother reading your entire post because I'm in the middle of a "clean up" myself. But I saw your thread title and figured I'd offer up some advice. Good luck!
