Default Steve1969LS1 is back in the house..

Well after getting VERY burned out on the whole car deal Im back

The car is still in the shop but its getting there.. the whole "re-do" thing just really made me not want to think about cars much.. so i took a break.

Im better now.. (not that I was well before)

So I look forward to being involved with the forum again.. So, did I miss anything?

Please.. somebody tell me BluBeast finally installed his damn hose clamps!!

Welcome back Steve. Glad to see things are going in the right direction again. I know the feeling of running into snags and delays but thankfully, haven't had the same streak of luck you had. I hope all things bad are well behind you.

Now let's get these cars on the road!!

Thanks for the welcomes

The car is coming along VERY good.. its a PITA to take it all apart again but in the end it will be a MUCH better car.. HRCS is a top notch shop and they have build cars to compete in AMBR and other high end stuff.. You can see on my site that they made the firewall out of two sheets of steel and welded it all the way around.. they 40 hours just in that!

The redone Recaro Styles should be shortly.. the rest of the interior will be done to match.. these are the same seats that are in my old 2000SS so I should feel right at home.

Best of all my car is going to be "patient zero" for one of the first production F1 paddle shifting systems.. this will operate just like ferrari with the ability to either put the car in drive and have automtic shift like normal OR flip on the system and shift using the paddle system. There is a dedicated computer that runs the trans and prevents overshifting (paddleing from 4th to 1st at 100mph, etc) and excessive engine braking.. I also very much helps with the tras getting too hot. Its all pretty wiz-bang.

Here is a vid on the system..

http://www.lateral-g.net/shrifter/shrifter_low-res.wmv

Maybe they will make it work with a forth-gen eventually

So the project is moving along.. im DYING to drive it but im learning patience.. sorta..

And Blu.. I might just have to come out there and put those darn clamps on for ya

Tones2SS: email me @ stevenrupp@sbcglobal.net and I would be happy to send you any higher res pics that you want.. they were only shot with a 1.3mp camera but when the car gets back I will be shooting pics with my new 5mp Minolta..
