Does anyone have a different color then red lights lighting up their guages? Was wondering what some other colors might look like

I think staying with red would be your best bet. Other colors could be harder to see.

Blue is the the most difficult color of light for our eyes to focus on, especiully a strong/vibrant medium blue. That is why it is typically not used from the factory as instrument lighting. I know Volkswagen does use it partly in the GTI (maybe others models too) and it may look cool, but its not as easy to read (although their shade of blue is just off of what would be bad). That is why most instrument lighting is red, green, or white (sometimes needles are orange).

The shade your talking about is more of a purple/cobalt color

I think "Cobalt" is an accurate description, not purple

-----

"Gauge" is the correct spelling.
"Gage" is a common misspelling/abbreviation
(Rhetorical Question: Why is "abbreviation" such a long word?)

Its common for "idiot lights" because its symetrical:
Check
Gages
See what I mean?

GAUGE is how it is spelled on the autometer.com web site. They make the GAUGEs so I would hope that they know how to spell it.
