Default Debadging

What would it take to remove the Z-28 labels from a car? I'm thinking of debadging the car to keep from people recognizing it as a V-8 and to attempt to keep street racing challenges to a minimum.

Good idea, I figured a razorblade would be too dangerous on the paint.

same deal... i've been debating it but I always hit this one trash can in my garage... some people suggest heating it up with a heatgun or hair dryer and then using the fishing line.. so there is less residue on the paint.. you might also want to use some sort of polish afterwards to make sure you still got all the shine!

I too want to take the door trim off the car. I have taken the RK Sport stripe kit off of my Camaro as well as my Z28 badges and all I did was pull them off and went to Wal-Mart and bought some Oops(i think that is the name of it) which will remove the sticky stuff as well as sap from pine trees off of the car.

Dental floss and this cleaner called fantastic. Any deagreaser should work. I just removed the Z28 emblems off of my uncles 94 Z and put 1970 Z emblems on it. It looks way better. Hopefully I'll have some picks up by this weekend.

Regular old rubbing alcohol will remove any of the sticky residue that decals and emblems might leave. Just clean and re-wax the small area when done.

After the fishing line I used a blow dryer, a cup of hot water, and a rag.

OK this may sound stupid to take the glue off but it works without the mess of "goof-off" or "WD-40". Peanut Butter! Sounds like bs but it works. Put it on let 'er sit for a few.........and wipe it off. Now, it does take a little more elbow grease but, it beats the hell out of rubbing FOREVER to get off the two afore mentioned. I mean yeah, they get the glue off but then......what the hell takes them off! This is what I'll be using when I take mine off this winter. jmo

Door molding eh.........interesting
