Default Easiest/Safest way to remove stock emblems

I want to replace my stock SS badges with some high polished ones and I'm sure there is more to it than simply pulling them off, exactly what though?

and any sources for some nice badges would be appreciated...

The best way is to carefully slice them off using some plastic dental floss along with a lubricant like water or Quick Detail spray.

it's easy.. use a hair dryer on the emblem for a minute or so then take dental floss and slowly "saw" off the badge..it will come off very easily..

3M makes an emblem removing tool that we sell to body shops. But I do the hairdryer method.

A bit off topic but how do you attatch the retro 69 style emblems. I noticed that they have prong type of things on the back that slide into older style cars. Any suggestions.

I would grind the "prongs" off and then use a emblem adhesive to attach them to the car.

I cut the prongs of with a dremel and then grinded them flush. The also have a slight curve in them that you will have to straighten. I put it in a couple of towels and SLIGHTY tapped it. Whenever you attach the emblems to the car be sure to puch A LOT of masking tape over it to hold it in place for about 24 hours. I learned that the hard way, But it all turned out good.

Thats what I figured, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a 'prongless' version I was missing out on.

For emblem adhesive would 3m work? or is there something else more applicaiton specific i should get

3M makes a couple emblem adhesives. There is the type in the tube(part number 8061?) and then there is the type that is press in place (8069?). I don't have my work stuff with me, but I'll search on 3M's site and see if I can find it.
