Default Removing Stock Grille

OK so i took a shot at removing my stock grille and i cant figure out how this thing comes out...

I TRIED TAKING OUT THE BOTTOM MIDDLE 3 CLIPS UNDER THE FRONT FASCIA AND THE TOP 5 BUT I STILL COULDNT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET THE DAMN GRILLE OFF... I GOT A BILLET FRILLE FOR MY CAR BUT IT SEEMS HOPELESS TO GET THE STOCK ONE OFF... iS THERE A WAY TO REMOVE IT WITHOUT PULLING OFF THE WHOLE FRONT BUMBER?

Get the top and bottom tabs loose then work on the sides, pull, wiggle, whatever, mine came out without breaking it just took some "caressing"

I actually had to reach up underneath (where you took off the three bottom tabs, between the nose and styrofoam) and twist of the barrel nuts. Cut my arm to **** but my grille is in one piece. An easier way would have been to take it to the guy who does my body work and have him take it off like he said he would for free.

They're ugly as crap anyway, so who cares if you break it?

If the bumper has ever been refinished the paint will very likely crack from the flex/distortion.

I dont care who the paint manufacturer is the paint is not as durable as the original when it comes to bumper covers, even with a flex agent.

If it has the original finish you can pull the grill through without fear of damaging the paint.

i've pulled two off. 1 off my SS which came off relatively easy by methodicly removing one clip at a time going around the perimiter. the second one i broke a tab, and decided just to pull a bit harder after that. then i ripped it nearly in half....LOL. i think you can tell which way had a better result.

later,
Dave
