New Sunoco Hood
Looks good but definatly needs to be at least a inch lower (as you stated). My car is currently in storage, but if the guinea pig thing falls over with spanky I could probably lend you the car for a few days... assuming its in good hands

The hood will be available in both glass and c/f - although as far as "cosmetic c/f" goes tho, we would need to let everyone know once the hood is completed and measured to see if we can make the hood using this process. I am assuming that the weight on the pin on versions will be around the same as our other hoods - which is about12lbs (in fiberglass) - and on the bolt on version approx. 25lbs (in fiberglass) - so they will be pretty lightweight hoods. I'm thinking that the scoop will fall around 2"- 2 1/2" in height.

Don't worry, after the first few trips around the neighborhood, your car(s) will be in good hands...lol...
Honestly, whoever brings their car up for the fitting process can stay here with their car - we generally only need a saturday (or two tops). We prefer for the customer to stay - to give input, etc. we would not need to drive the cars at all - only have access to the hood portion of the car.

looking good, if the cowl is going to only be around 2" or so i think it will be just right. also, the sides of the scoop seem to be steeper than the original design, sloping those more like the sunco would help alot. it looks like a narrow cowl right now, with the slope it will make it flow a lot better in mu opinoin. either way its looking great and thanks for listening to our opinions and making this happen, cant wait to see it on a car painted
I know it looks a little steeper then the pictures of the sunoco hood at this time, but once the height is lowered, that will change. We are always happy to put our ideas out to everyone here on this board for suggestions/comments - to be honest, without everyone here, we would not offer what we do for the Camaro and Firebirds...so Thank You!!

One thing I see is not so much a height issue, but the steepness of the sides of the cowl. What I like about the Sunoco/Dick Harrell hood, is that it is more of a gradual rise to the top and is more rounded off. To me, the pictures look like where the sides and top of the cowl meet are too square.

I believe what we are doing with the sunoco hoods is first making them for the 98 and newer camaro, then we will probably go back and make them for the 93-97 versions, but I am unsure on the earlier models at this time.
I'm sure the price will be reasonable - priced approx. the same as our other hoods....not something that will make ur eyes pop out like this:

Kind of like this hood but maybe a little taller?
