In terms of the sides, perhaps. But that also has a big dip in the middle of the hood. Kind of like the WS6 hoods going down the middle.

I think the dip maybe the light hitting the scoop - because there is no dip in the center of this scoop - just is a bit bubbly (rounded) across the top.

Is VFN the only one working on this fab in the Chicagoland area, or even anywhere else? If so, that's outstanding. If you guys get it right-and I'm sure you will, I'd definately purchase one.

I wasn't referring to the hood you are engineering. I was commenting on the picture the person posted whom I quoted and replied.

is there going to be a line down the middle?

if you go on the gmmg website it shows pictures of it with the line, and it looks sharp, blends well with the front bumper

anthonycds ~ yes, i believe we are currently the only company working on this design.
jimm ~ sorry, i misread your reply and thought u were speaking about the scoop having a bubble
deathknight ~ we will offer both - with and without the center line. The first sunoco hood design that we offer will be without the line, the second that we make will be with.
hardtop ~ sounds great
and
black98 ~ we are hoping to start selling these early next month - providing all goes on time with finishing off the molds.
Thanks guys!!

Good direction so far, but I also agree that the upper corners and intersection where the hood meets the scoop need to be more rounded and smooth. As smooth as possible, to match the body lines of the Camaro better. put some more radius in those areas

I don't know whose car this is if they don't want me to post a picture of it i'll remove it.

Is this hood considered a sunoco hood?
I Absolutely love this hood!! the curves on the cowl blend perfectly with the headlight contours.
I think the corners on your prototype definitly NEED to be rounded off completely(like these two pics), it should not have any lines at all. It has to match the natural hood contours to look clean.

If it ends up looking like this i'll buy it!

Hardtop ~ sorry can't get the link to work....
Meanie ~ we're planning on doing these for the 3rd gen also - to be honest, it may not be ready (the mold) until sometime this spring/summer.....
jealouz ~ i'm sorry, this is not the sunoco hood. this is another one off project that another (non sponsor) company made for one customer. we offer a scoop comparable to this - we call our scoop "mike bowman" style scoop. - which we can mold onto a stock hood for you....which would give you a hood similar to the one pictured above. You can find our scoop under the catalog section of the site - then click on cowl induction scoop section. Ours is 5" in height, however, we can adjust the height of the scoop to about 3" if needed.
Thanks.
