Do you pillar gauges bother you at night?
I was just wondering how people that wired up their gauge lights feel about the end result of their work. Does having 2 or 3 extra gauges in you face get bothersome? I know quite a few people set them up on the same dimmer that the instrument panel runs off of.
I'm setting my gauges up for a nitrous system (elec. fuel, elec. nitrous, wideband AFR) and am considering just setting the lights to come on when the system's armed.
Feedback anyone?

I just finished wiring all mine up tonight. Went for a spin to see how it would effect me, and didn't bother me at all. I've got Cobalt gauges and tach, and I enjoy looking at them, maybe a little too much, hahaha. I use to have a regular Sport Comp tach with white lighting and it was very annoying, the backlighting was just too bright. The cobatls are nice at night because all they do is backlight the numbers and stuff. They don't actually illimunate the entire gauge, so there isn't much excess light thrown off from them.

Yup, just push them in, they aren't going anywhere. Might want to push on them every now and then just incase they are working themselves out. My dynotune gauge is screwed in from the back though.

mine (ultra-lites) are hooked up to the dimmer fuse as well. they dont bother me at all. i actually found the lighting to be a little TOO dim with the red or green cover on the bulbs so i pulled them off and stuck with the white. it looks better now that it semi-matches my stock gauge lighting and stereo face (though i could toggle that if i wanted.... )
i imagine that a triple pod might be a little annoying because of the EXTREMELY close proximity of the top gauge to your eyes. as stated though, my dual pod isnt annoying at all.

Cool. Thanks for all the help everyone.
I installed my pillar pod and gauges today. I wound up wiring the gauge lights to the dimmer. I'll try that and see how I like it. I hope the wire harness is long enough, it looks a little short...
I got some "before" pics of the stock gauges. As soon as my MacEwen white faced overlays show up, I'll get some "after" pics posted. I'm sure it'll look a lot like PewterY2kZ28's, with one more gauge.
