What Color to paint calipers?
Ok guys I'm in a DILEMA here lol-EVERYONE IS CRITICIZING ME FOR NOT HAVING THEM PAINTED!
My car is Navy Blue Metallic (w/ that wonderful colorshift-shades of purple and blues gotta love 'em) w/ Silver Vinyl Overlays and Silver/Chrome painted Grille inserts and vents as accents. For now the stock rims are on-however I do plan to order a nice set of Fikse FM5's and notice that they show the calipers more then the POS stock rims. I'm also getting Zinc Coated cross-drilled and slotted rotors. (pics on www.cardomain.com/id/birdman02 page 5 or 6 has recent pics)
Consensus is that most people believe I should paint them a shade of red, and MAYBE put Trans Am decals (chrome?) on them. It will stand out the most and look damn good-however, my concern is how the RED will conflict w/ the color shift-maybe I am concerned too much. Also if I were to go Red, what color/shade red? Of course I REALLY want it to stand out, but Not too much Like Fire Engine Red might-so I thought mayb something like a CandyApple Red, or would a bright red look fine?
Another option thats run through my mind, Is Polished/Chromed w/ Black Trans Am decals on it. This I figured will not stand out very much however and defeat the purpose of doing anything to the calipers to make the wheels standout/look better. This would go with my Accents though because they are silver.
The final option was Black, with Chrome/White Trans Am Decals-CLASSIC, and subtle-but will not stand out ENOUGH I'm afraid.
Now I know, I am very, very picky and probably worry a little too much, but my car has got to look its best, while going to shows and shootin' down cobras this summer (they won't even know what hit them) And guys/gals I am sorry for the length of this Post. Please respond ASAP I'd really appreciate the help of some of you BLING masters.
What Type of Paint should I buy and from where as well? Any advice on application will be very helpful as well but the COLOR is my main concern.
Thanks Again,
Adam

I voted for the black with chrome letters. I think that the chrome/polished would also look good...the red seems a bit out of place to me...a bit too overstated. Not to say that it wouldn't look good, I just prefer subtle...it's all in the details.
As for paint...I used the epoxy-paint kit for calipers from Eastwood ---->
The paint is holding up very well, however, powder coating would be the ultimate.

.. i was in the same problem you where... but if you dont like the black with silver lettering.... them i would say that you should either polish or crome your calipers and get the lettering in nbm or black...

thanx, i think. those pics dont really do them much justice, crappy cell phone camera pics. They're really sharp in person and I think if i got some red Trans Am stickers for em they'd look awesome. Those are stockers btw.
