Revised custom paint job - Renderings
For LS1TECH.com Project "MISS1LE", I changed the ripped away graphics a bit, made them start ahead of the front tire and sweep back more than last time. This is how I plan on painting the car. Notice those new M/T drag wheels
old drawing:
I should be receiving most of the suspension and rearend components in a couple weeks, then I'll tear into this car and start the building process. I'm still undecided on which engine setup to go with, but whatever goes under the hood will be riding in one bad **** top of the line rolling chassis

This is not the best angle but see the roof of this show car (had a jet engine or something in it) but it was the best paint job I have seen which is something you are looking at...
The panals just looked like they were real and pieced on the car. It was awesome.

You should get Kris Horton to do real rendering of the car. He can do a couple angles and it would look great on the site.
Oh...and I like everything but the wheels. I'd go for the aluma-start spindle mounts w/ Billingsley's new front suspension setup.

Tony,
Maybe it's just me, but shouldn't the sheet metal be in the front of the car? If it's flying as fast as a missle, the paint from the front would be ripping off, not the back. It does look sweet though and I love the idea.

That was it and it holds a speed record. The paint was so nicely done it looked riveted together.

You guys can thank Scott (a member here) for the renderings. The drawing looks even better in person, VERY detailed!
HAMRHEAD nailed it on the paint peel description. I prefer to think that the paint was ripped away on the backside to reveal what is underneath the skin. Or possibly that the paint is being worn away, like how you see it on POS older cars and their rear bumpers fading away first. The higher turbulence is on the rear of a projectile.

Back in the 80's, I wondered what a 3rd Gen would look like painted up in the color scheme of "Big Beautiful Doll", a P-51D flown by Col. John D. Landers of Joshua, TX. It was natural aluminum with the engine cowl done in black & white checkers, trimmed with a red stripe at the firewall...
And maybe even put static cling (4th Gen) or magnetic (3rd Gen) U.S. WWII national insignia (blue & white star and bars) on the doors with a bunch of German and Japanese kill markings.

It made for a good daydream....
