When is there too much dirt...
When is there too much dirt... to use quick detailer? I am overly afraid of scratching. I use it usually for the car being dusty, maybe to get a few bugs off the front (careful though), and around where the tires may have kicked up a little dirt. Using pakshak towels also, and using very liberal amounts of the Zaino.
I wouldn't use it with more than a light dusting on the car. Alot of times what I'll do is dust the car with a microfiber towel and then use the detailer. I have used it on bugs and it doesn't swirl if your real careful, try and wipe the majority of the splater off then turn the towel and use more detailer. As for the behind the tires, swirls never really show in that area (unless your lying on the ground) so I really don't care if there is actuall dirt on the paint, I'll still wipe it off with the quick detailer. Just make sure you keep your towel for behind the wheels seperate when quick detailing.

I always like to give the car a light rinsing/washing, and use the detailer after, in minimal amounts.
I am a firm believer that washing a car everytime I fill up with gas is the best. Sometimes like summer nights it is 2x per fill, cuz of all the bugs. I never use detailer with out washing first.

I'm with you. I don't ever use quick detailer with out washing. If I have a show I may use it once I get there but it usually isn't too bad and I'm extra careful
