Default !Stock Grill! Who has painted the area after removal?

Stock grill delete, I want to know if anybody has painted the grill area after removal. I have an Arctic White Z and I took the stock grill off, and put mesh behind the inlets. I wanna see what it looks like with the grill area black...cause I'm seriously thinking about doing this tonight, but want to check it out first. I think I want to go black on the grill, and maybe paint the mesh white. i think it would contrast the area well, and make the mesh "pop" out of the inlets. Any thoughts, or anybody have any pics?

Here's my grill with the mesh...

Want to do something along this. I know it's not a good pchop job, but just in case you can't see my "vision," I was thinking about the mesh in the inlets being white, and leaving the camaro lettering white?

I think it is a great idea. I would paint it black, leave the grills silver or paint them silver and then stick on silver or white vinyl on the front CAMARO. I have no idea how you would tape off the CAMARO as to not get it painted.

My only concern with this plan is that the paint really would need to adhere and you would need to use bumper paint with a flexible additive. Even with that, the front of you car gets pelted with bugs and rocks and I'm not sure how the paint would hold up. Other than that concern I think it is a great idea.

Though, if you are painting that area anyway I would fill the holes where the grill was at the same time.

The photoshop makes it look like a Chrysler!!!

I say fill the holes and paint it GLOSS BLACK, but then why not just get an SLP grille?

What kind of a Chrysler would that be?

Not terribly concerned about filling the holes, I know it would look a whole helluva lot better, but $ is my main concern. Hell, the mesh that I bought was $3.99 and it looks great. I'm just thinking I want a little contrast in the grill to further seperate it from other Z's. Has anybody actually done this and has pictures? I don't want to go into this and paint it, then hate it, and then I'm stuck with it!

Lightbulb

Here's what I did - didn't like the gloss black behind the billet grill, so cut out a piece of sheet metal that goes right behind it, painted that flat black. When it gets chipped or real dirty, can remove it and repaint.

I took off my grille had all the holes filled in and had the front clip repainted the same color as my car. Also had some black mesh put in. I can take pics but cant seem to post them on here. Everything done at a rep paint shop was $300.00. They removed the front clip and did it the right way and it looks badazz.
I also have some s/s camaro inserts I will be installing on the front.

Well, a little too chicken to jump into this without seeing what it could look like, but I am in the process of painting the mesh white to make it stand out against the black foam behind it. Will post pics soon...

I think if you paint the mesh white, it will bring more attention to all of the crap behind it. I did this yesterday, and you can see what I'm talking about in the pics. You can see all of the crap behind the mesh, it's not as clean as I would like it to look. I think what you want to do is going to look good, but it will stand out more behind white. Just something to think about. I'm thinking about just painting everything that you can see behind the mesh flat black to hide it a little bit, unless you want to cut it all out.

Well, I painted them white, and I must say the mesh looks better than I hoped. I actually grabs a little more attention to that area, and you can't see anything really behind it. I'll have to replace my batteries in my camera to snap a couple of good pics, but I think I'm satisfied for now...

Mommy it smiled at me

In all seriousness, I would say get a SLP BOWTIE Grille or something like that, maybe even a Billet one
