What cause (fixes) cloudy finish?
What cause (fixes) cloudy finish? There are a couple of areas on my car that have a cloudy appearance to them.
Paint color is black in case that matters.
What caused this and can I fix it?

You can find plenty of threads on here if you do a search. It helped me. I would use a claybar first then use either the 3 step Meguiar's paint finisher or the Zaino line of products. If you look up both, you will hear good things about both but Zaino costs more but losts longer. If you do a search or go to the Zaino web site, they have a description of what each product should be used for and in what order. Should be no problem.

permanant fix = get another color
I swore I would never buy a black car, but somehow I did. I guess it was because I was impatient in finding a car. I have some marring of the finish where a headlight seems to rub the bumper cover when the light is down. I tried claying. No hope. My vette will most definatly not be black.

A claybar will not get rid of scratches or swirl marks. Claybaring only cleans the surface to a glasslike feel. Polishes and finishers are what need to be used. These work best though AFTER using the claybar. My clear coat has a lot of swirls from the dumbass at the dealer who thought he was "buffing out the swirls". Instead, he only made it very noticeable. I'm about to Zaino my car since I don't have a buffing wheel. It should fix it and my paint also has that cloudy look. It is the fine scratches and swirls in the clear coat.
